Smokey Joe's Cafe uses the music of Leiber and Stoller, two of the greatest songwriters of the 1950?s, to illuminate a pivotal moment of social change in America. Through songs such as On Broadway, Spanish Harlem, and Stand By Me, Smokey Joe?s Caf? explores the beginnings of rock and roll and the American civil rights movement.
