Runaway Stage Productions (RSP)
is currently looking for performers interested in being cast in our upcoming 2007 Season Preview Gala. The show will take place on Sunday, November 12th at the 24th Street Theatre at 8 p.m. This show will consist of a medley of our 2006 season and selected numbers from our 2007 10th anniversary season.
We are looking for eight very strong singer/dancers to fill the roles. The rehearsals for this show will be brief but intense and we are looking for performers that can accomplish difficult musical numbers with a minimum of rehearsal.
If you are interested in participating in this special night please join us for the auditions. Please bring sheet music and dance clothes.
The evening will start with a private wine and cheese reception in the green room/courtyard for our patrons and partners thanking them for their support in 2006, then the festivities will move into the 24th Street Theatre for the show, which will be open to the public, then we will follow that production with a dessert reception for all who attend. We are looking forward to a fun and productive evening.
This production is open to all performers including RSP alumni past and present and performers that have never worked with RSP but would like the opportunity to join us onstage!
We hope that you will join us and help celebrate our 2007 10th Anniversary Season.

Annie
Leaping Lizards! Experience the Magic One More Time, Our 2006 Season of Fantastic Theatre comes to a close with the classic blockbuster – Annie!November 3 – 26, 2006
Directed by Bob Baxter
Choreographed by Darryl Strohl
Vocal Direction by Deann Goltz
Leapin' Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes centerstage in one of the world's best-loved musicals.
"Annie" (Kaylynn Rothleder, making her RSP debut) is a spunky
Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan (Lillian Baxter, Nunsense and Gypsy). In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Ray Fisher, Sweeney Todd), his personal secretary Grace Farrell (Andrea St. Clair, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers) and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
A must for any theatre with a large family audience, "Annie" has proven a sure-fire crowd-pleaser, as its record-breaking Broadway run, star-studded motion picture version, hit 20th anniversary Broadway revival and national tour, and countless productions around the globe each year attest. With its upbeat ending, a bright tuneful score which has become a part of the nation's musical heritage, a cast of characters which includes many scene-stealing roles for children (including the coveted title role) and a classic villainess audiences love to hate, it's no wonder this heartwarming show has become an international sensation.
An intensely likable musical! ...It has a rare kind of gutsy charm"
-The New York Times
"Spectacular on every count... a sudden reversion to the concept of fun."
-Newsweek
"At the heart of musical comedy; big warm-hearted, funny and overflowing!"
-New York Post"

Don't Miss Out On Our 10th Anniversary Season - Become an Official "RSP Partner"!
New Patron Level and benefits Added This Year - Support The Finest in Community Theatre
As you know, Runaway Stage Productions is a non-profit Community Theatre Company who has been providing high quality theatre entertainment for eight years in the Sacramento area. What began as a one-time only show in 1997 has turned into a year round operation, producing Broadway-style productions, Storybook Children's Theater, delighting children of all ages and Youth Musical Theater Workshops providing performing arts education for hundreds of area youth.
RSP produces some of the highest quality theater in the Sacramento area as evidenced by increased performance attendance and multiple Elly nominations and Awards from the Sacramento Area Regional Theater Alliance (SARTA).
However, we are at a critical point in RSP history. The cost of producing quality theatre has increased dramatically over the last couple of years, and we are experiencing financial difficulty in delivering the superior theatrical productions our patrons enjoy and have afforded us recognition in the theatre community. RSP has relied solely on ticket sales and occasional individual donations to provide the necessary operational revenue. And in support of our #1 objective to provide the best possible live theatre entertainment that can be enjoyed by the entire community, we strive to keep our ticket prices affordable for our diverse patron base. Additionally, we continue to evaluate our budget management guidelines ensuring that we are operating at the most resourceful and efficient costs possible. However, we are still faced with the significant challenge to keep the "Stage Door" open at RSP.
How can you help? You can become an RSP "Partner" by making a tax deductible donation of $50.00 or more as described below. In return, we are offering complimentary tickets, recognition in our playbills, etc.
Moreover, we are seeking "Sponsors" to help underwrite our productions.
If you own or work for a business that is supportive of the Arts, please ask if they will help with a grant to cover some of the expenses of producing a Broadway Style Musical. The business or individual will receive full recognition in our playbills, banners, advertising, etc., giving them great visibility in the community. In an average season, RSP reaches over 10,000 people!
Thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at the 24th Street Theatre!!

Tell us What You Think!
RSP is looking for input from you, our friends and patrons, on what you think of RSP. Applying for grants and funding opportunities is always a difficult project, and RSP is always working on these endeavors, so we are looking to you, our friends and patrons, to help with some information. Funding organizations are always looking to see how a program impacts the people who access the services it provides, so we are asking you to share your thoughts. If you have had an experience that has touched you, or someone you know, please let us know. We are looking for any stories or thoughts you may have had about the work that RSP does. So whether you have seen a show that you thought was well done, or if you have been involved in our YMTWs or if you just would like to send a letter of support please feel free, we would love to hear from you. In addition, if there is something that you feel we could work on, or if there is a concern you have please also feel free to send that along with your thoughts. Please be sure to include your name and contact information along with your letter. We appreciate your support for our work and we hope that with your help we can achieve some additional funding and be able to continue to produce the best community theatre around.
