Producer's Corner

AUDITIONS
RSP is pleased to announce auditions for the 40th anniversary production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.

Directed by Bob Baxter
Choreographed by Gino Platina
Vocal Directed by Geneva Houx

Sunday and Monday, September 19th and 20th (postponed from 9/12th & 13th) 7 p.m. 24th Street Theatre 2791 24th Street, Sacramento Please bring sheet music for a song not from the show.
All roles, except the role of Tevye are open; there are roles for children in this production; All ages and experience levels are encouraged to audition. For further audition criteria please visit our website www.runawaystage.com Without our traditions, our lives would be as shaky as a...Fiddler on the Roof!
Tevye, humble milkman, harried husband and devoted father to five marriageable daughters, invites us into his little village of Anatevka. Here, there is a tradition for everything - how to eat, how to wear clothes, how to pray, how to marry...all of which are happily imparted by our earthy philosopher as he draws into FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. It is a remarkable journey traveling through secret love, forbidden betrothal, weddings, devotion and forgiveness, tempered by rejection, oppression and imminent revolution. And, emerging through it all, we find the humor, strength and perseverance of Tevye and his people, reminding us of life's never-ending circle. Never has any other musical so magically woven music, dance, poignancy and laughter into such an electrifying and unforgettable experience. Based on the stories of Shalom Aleichem, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF has been lauded by critics again and again, and won the hearts of people all around the world. Filled with a rousing and heartwarming score, which includes 'Tradition,' 'Matchmaker, Matchmaker,' 'If I Were A Rich Man,' and 'Sunrise, Sunset,' FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is a timeless classic. Relive a glorious tradition of the musical theatre with FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
'One of the most glowing creation in the history of musical theatre'
-The New York Times

Summer comes to a close at RSP but the great shows and talent continues to sizzle! Don"t miss THE ODD COUPLE as it continues its very limited run for only two more weeks (closing on September 25th). Great seats are still available so make sure you call and get yours now! The Odd Couple, in a different genre of shows, RSP is thrilled to be presenting this hilarious modern classic Neil Simon comedy. The clash of two totally different personalities, the meticulous and cultured Felix, and Oscar, a slob who loves to gamble, makes this play delightful, cheerful, and funny. The play begins with a group of men assembled for poker in the messy apartment of their divorced friend, Oscar. Later to arrive is their distraught friend, Felix, who has just separated from his wife. When Oscar and Felix decide to share an apartment, the patterns that characterized their disastrous marriages begin to emerge. The Odd Couple opened September 3rd for a limited four week run, you won't want to miss this wonderful show. Great seats are still available, for tickets visit us on line at www.runawaystage.com or call the box office at (916) 207-1226.

The long anticipated Elly Awards Ceremony is almost here. RSP still has group tickets available but time is running out. Great Parking News at Sierra 2 - The 24th Street Theatre!
As you are approaching the 24th Street theatre from Broadway, make a left turn on Castro Street and then a right turn into a newly available parking lot for theatre patrons. You will notice a new sign that lets you know that it is OK to park there for theatre events. This lot is very close to the theatre (a short walk right beside the theatre brings you to the front door, and the Box Office), and right next to the RSP rehearsal space known as "The Studio." So please feel free to park in this lot when you come to see the great shows at RSP! Just another way to make visiting the 24th Street Theatre easier and hassle free!
