Actors don’t miss our next auditions for the hit Neil Simon comedy The Odd Couple. Auditions are this Sunday and Monday (July 18th & 19th) at 7 p.m. at the 24th Street Theatre, located at 2791 24th Street. All roles are open and this is a great way for comedic actors to work with this award winning company. Bob Baxter will direct the production, and we are very excited to stretch our wings again and step away from our usual specialty of musical comedy, to present this hilarious show. Roles available are for actors in their early 30’s to late 40’s, and are as follows:

Felix Unger

Felix is a commercial photographer (portraits a specialty) and a neurotic neat freak. He can always be counted on to constantly clean the apartment, often to Oscar's dismay. Felix seems to be able to drive anybody crazy just by living with them (including not only Oscar, but also Francis, and the Pigeon Sisters). He is a hypochondriac who always has a stash of vitamins and medications nearby. Whenever he gets upset, his sinuses clog up, and he starts "honking." And when Felix gets really upset, his back is liable to go out.

Oscar Madison

Oscar is a sports columnist for the New York Herald, which makes him a semi-celebrity. When Felix's wife Francis threw him out of the house, he invited Felix to stay in his apartment - a decision he ends up regretting. Oscar is a slob, and likes being that way. He is often seen with a blue baseball cap on his head and a cigar in his mouth.

Murray

Murray is one of Oscar and Felix's poker buddies. Murray is a New York City cop, and is not seen out of uniform in the show. Murray has often walked off his beat to play a hand of poker or just hang out at Oscar's apartment.

Speed

Speed is one of Oscar and Felix's poker buddies, and the most compulsive gambler of the group.

Vinnie

Vinnie is another of the poker buddies, and a rather mild-mannered person.

Roy

Roy is yet another poker buddy, and he is also Oscar's accountant.

The Pigeon Sisters (Gwendolyn and Cecily)

Gwendolyn and Cecily Pigeon met Oscar when the three of them were stuck in an elevator together. These two British sisters live upstairs from Oscar and Felix, and the four of them double date. Both of them are very sympathetic toward Felix, and defend him against Oscar in an argument.

Further information on the audition is available on our website www.runawaystage.com, so come on out and join us on stage for this great Broadway comedy! No experience necessary and all are welcome at the audition. Hope to see you there!

Great Parking News at Sierra 2 - The 24th Street Theatre!
As you are approaching the 24th Street theatre from Broadway, make a left turn on Castro Street and then a right turn into a newly available parking lot for theatre patrons. You will notice a new sign that lets you know that it is OK to park there for theatre events. This lot is very close to the theatre (a short walk right beside the theatre brings you to the front door, and the Box Office), and right next to the RSP rehearsal space known as "The Studio." So please feel free to park in this lot when you come to see the great shows at RSP! Just another way to make visiting the 24th Street Theatre easier and hassle free!
