Runaway
Stage Productions, Inc. (RSP) is constantly striving
for the best performances possible, and this can only
be achieved with the best talent possible. One of the
ways to get great performers involved is to communicate
with them clearly. Below is RSP's audition criteria. If
you have any questions please feel free to contact
us by e-mail or phone (916) 207-1226. Thank you for
your interest in RSP and we hope to see you at an audition
soon.
Productions and audition dates are subject to change without
notice. Shows are subject to rights availability.
AUDITION CRITERIA
DOCUMENTATION: Head shot and resume is
preferred. If you do not have either one or both, your
audition card and photo (that will be taken during the
audition process) will suffice.
MUSICALS: One prepared song from a Broadway show.
The song should show off the range of the singer and be
within their range. An accompanist will be provided and
no recorded music will be allowed. Be prepared to sing
the entire song. If there are a lot of actors auditioning
you may be requested to only sing a portion of the song.
If you sing an up-tempo song you may be asked to also
sing a ballad and visa versa. (NOTE: The key to a good
audition is to be prepared. Don't audition if you are
not properly prepared; it is counter-productive for both
you and the directors.)
There will be a dance audition, so please dress appropriately
for movement. In most cases all actors will be asked to
complete the dance audition even for a non-dancing part.
Consideration will be given if you are auditioning for
a non-dancing part.
Cold/warm
readings from the script will be conducted for principal
or featured parts. If there is a specific part you are
auditioning for, be sure to list it on your audition card
at the audition.
Performances
are normally on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m.
with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
NON MUSICALS: Cold/warm readings from
the script will be conducted for all parts. If there is
a specific part you are auditioning for, be sure to list
it on your audition card at the audition.
Performances are normally on Friday and Saturday evenings
at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
CHILDREN'S THEATER: Cold/warm readings
from the script will be conducted for all parts. If there
is a specific part you are auditioning for, be sure to
list it on your audition card at the audition. These auditions
and productions are much more relaxed and creative. These
shows are a lot of fun and less of a time commitment.
Performances are usually Saturdays at 12 and 2 p.m.
